HOW TO MAKE A DONATION:

Your kind donation will help GAHFU to establish a  Garifuna Community Cultural and Learning  Center that  is desperately needed in the Los Angeles County area.  The community center will feature cultural enrichment programs like: garifuna history education, traditional drumming and singing classes, Garifuna culinary art, sewing traditional clothing workshop and dance classes.  It will also house an all Garifuna  library and other literary works.  Computer classes will also be available.

Your kind donation will also be needed to help us carry out several projected programs like; Garifuna classes,cultural exchange programs,after school youth programs, leadership & mentoring programs, aid relief to the several schools in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, the production and distribution of Garifuna music and the arts. Your donation will also provide mentoring programs and provide scholarships to socio-economically disadvantaged Garifuna children in California and in Central America.

Your donation will be greatly appreciated and it will make a difference in the preservation of the Garifuna culture in  North America and Central America. GAHFU is an exempt organization under section 501 ( c) (3) and all donations are tax deductible. We need your donation to continue to serve the community preserve the rich garifuna heritage. A voluntary board of directors provides guidance anwe need your donation to continue to serve the community preserve the rich garifuna heritage.. d oversight for GAHFU activities.

“Dedicated to the preservation of our culture" , Garifuna culture.

 To empower Garifuna Americans by preserving and disseminating its culture in order to re-acculturate the new generations of Garinagu in America. Create innovative educational programs that motivate, expand knowledge, promote its culture in general, enhance Garifuna awareness for opportunities and foster Garifuna identity. GAHFU believes that having an appreciation of one’s own culture sets the stage for developing partnership with people who come from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Vision:

 To establish a community cultural center in the Los Angeles area,  where Garinagu from all communities can congregate to preserve the uniqueness of Garifuna culture, language, history, spirituality, music, arts and crafts, through creative and innovative educational programs by working together with Garifuna and non Garifuna communities to motivate, expand awareness, and to promote knowledge of the Garifuna people and culture around the world.

Goals:

1. To establish a Garifuna Community Cultural and Learning Center in the Los Angeles county area.

2. Work to maintain the Garifuna culture alive.

3. Create innovative educational programs that motivate, expand knowledge, promote its culture in general, enhance Garifuna awareness for opportunities and foster Garifuna identity.

4. Build a strong Garifuna community through education and organizing.
